Ciate Cupcake Queen

So it's Monday (again) and we all know how sucky Mondays can be. I thought I might be able to cheer you up a little with a pretty, pretty polish.

This is Ciate Paint Pots in Cupcake Queen. It's a amazing fuchsia colour and then you turn your nail and you get a crazy flash of blue! It's super awesome. The blue flash is much more apparent in the bottle, when the polish in on my nails, the flash is very subtle, but you can tell it is there. It lends a very cool tone to the polish which makes it different to other colours I have that are a similar shade (sans blue flash).
The formula on this one is spot on. I could have gotten away with one coat but because I am a little OCD, I did two. Perfect coverage. The bottle is super cute with it's little bow, but it is obvious that a lot of thought has gone into in beyond how it should look. It has a nice long handle, which is great for me with my freakishly long fingers, other then Orly brushes and now this one, it is usually hard for me to control the brush overly well because I find them just little bit too small for my hands. (I have some upcoming swatches done with some Orly minis - hilarious!)

The brush itself is a work of art as far as I am concerned. Comparable to the OPI pro wide brush, it applies just the right amount of polish with minimal effort. Added together with the length of the handle, Ciate is the hands down winner for me.

You can pick up Ciate polish online from their site http://www.ciate.co.uk/online-store.html if you are international or from selected retailers if you are based in the UK, a whole listing can be found on their site.

I decided to jazz it up a little with a bit of Konad. I used plate M36 for the ring finger and M31 for the rest of the fingers. You guys know how much I love Konad stuff. It makes me happy. You can pick up everything you could possibly ever need that is Konad related from http://www.wowsocool.com/. The customer service there is phenomenal and nothing is ever too much for them to help the customer out. I get all my stuff from there. I am pretty sure they also offer to match competitors coupons (**you should double check that, I'm not 100% sure**). If you are overseas, their shipping rates easily beat any others I have come across which is important when you live down under like I do.

I've been thinking that I'd love to be able to do a post featuring reader nail art. If you want to participate, send me though an email, I'd love to see what skills you guys have.

My Wonderland and Cracking polish giveaway is open. Please enter here if you haven't already.

That's it from me today.
Be awesome to each other.

**This polish and Konad plate m36 were sent to me for review**

  1. You absolutely do! I think everyone needs a polish that is their namesake. I wonder if there is a Rebecca or Bec floating around in the polish universe?

  5. Hi EG,

Oh no way! That sucks! I didn't know that. Maybe you could arrange a cp with someone based in the UK to trade for something you have access to? I reckon if you mentioned it on MUA or even just threw it out there in your next post you would get a few responses.

  7. Hi Alicia,

You army favourite person in Canada, you know that right? I have a brow pencil, but every time I go to use it, I swear it has melted on me. It's nuts, or maybe I'm nuts. Who really knows for sure. I'd love one of the MAC ones. Let me know what I can trade you for.

I'm super impressed that you haven't caved yet on your project 5 pan, I would have for sure.

  9. Hi Pixie D,

The bottle is killer, I would have bought this for the packaging alone, the fact that the polish is awesome too is a bonus!
