Eyelash Extensions

Afternoon everyone. I got some eyelash extensions on the weekend and of course, had to share them with you. They are spectacular, even if I do say so myself.

I went to a place called EmBodi (at Wavell Heights for any locals) and Emma, the beauty therapist who applied the lashes is quite possibly one of the most awesome people I've ever met. She's lovely and chatty while staying really professional and makes you feel so at ease with the process. Emma explained everything to me, step by step so I knew what I was getting myself into and let me see the different choices on offer.

I went for medium individual lashes which looks pretty natural as far as fake lashes go. Emma told me they will last about three weeks provided that you take care not to hit them with makeup remover, cleansers etc. It's been a week, and while I've lost a few, they seem to be holding up well, and I am certainly not the most gentle person when it comes to this stuff.

Overall, I am ridiculously stoked (that's excited for you non-Aussies out there) with how this turned out and am I pretty sure that this is the start of a long relationship with lash extensions. If you're local, go see Emma, I promise you will not be disappointed. It is $79 for a set of extensions and here is a link to the EmBodi website so check it out.

And before you ask, No I was not paid to write this. No I do not personally know the therapist and yes, I paid to have them done.

That's it from me today.

Be awesome to each other.

  2. Those do look very natural, I can't really tell any difference between your natural and the extension lashes!

  4. $79 is actually a pretty good price for lash extensions. I've seen them advertised for over $100!

They look absolutely lovely and I would consider doing it for a special occasion.

  5. They look great. I just saw a video on youtube from Lisa Eldrige where she was showing a new lash treatment called a lifting treatment. They use your own lashes but put on a special serum that keeps them looking bigger for I believe 4-6 weeks...it was kind of cool.

  6. Hi Konad-licious,

I totally agree that it is expensive, but I have seen them advertised in other places for $100+. After you get them done, you only really need to get refills done which are much cheaper.

However, it is a high maintenance beauty "extra" and I admit that after a while I am likely to get tired of having to get them done all the time, so perhaps as a one off as you suggested.

  7. Hiya Love B,

Thank you! That's actually a massive compliment because I was going for something a little more natural looking them Kim Kardashian style lashes. The reason you probably can't tell them apart is because they glue the individual lash onto your own lash, making it longer and thicker.

  8. Hi Chaos!

Thank you! They are super awesome. Only three lashes? Wow, how do you go keeping dust and stuff like that out fo your eyes?

  9. Hi Skulda,

I concur, and the good thing about the lashes is that you can pick the kind depending on the look (or occasion) you are going for.

  12. Idon't think that when people grow up, they will become morebroad-minded and can accept

everything. Conversely, I think it's aselecting process, knowing what's the most important

and what's theleast. And then be a simple man
