Rimmel Black and Konad Psyche Pink

Todays NOTD are pretty quick and easy. Its a Rimmel polish in Black. I don't have any specifics since I seem to have lost the bottle right after painting my nails. I think it must have been one of those 60 second ones because it dried superfast. It only took two coats for even coverage as well, which is a bonus.

I then gave some character to my nails by adding Konad template 63, which is a full nail design and only work on me if I chop my nails right off, which I had to do. What frustrated me the most about having to cut them down is that I put together furniture all day the day before and didn't even chip my polish let alone break a nail but then when I work up the next morning I had broken the corners off two nails! I have no idea how I managed that, but I did. OK, enough ranting.

The polish over the top is Konad Special Polish in Psyche Pink. The second picture is a clearer indication of how it actually looked on my nails. The pink was not as bright in RL. It's the flash in the first picture that did that.

I've had a few people ask me about how I get the stamping to work every time so that it looks passable. The truth is - I don't. Lol. After I apply the full nail colour I let it dry a bit and then add a quick dry top coat, my favourite is Seche Vite, and let it dry hard-ish. So then when you stamp, if the design doesn't turn out the way you want, get a cotton bud/ q-tip with remover on it, you can get rid of the design without wrecking the polish. Easy as that. Just make sure you let the top coat dry for a while, because when you stamp, if it's not hard enough it wrecks the polish but smooshing it to the side. Learned that the hard way.

That's all from me today. Be awesome to each other.

  2. How crazy is it that you can break a nail on something so soft? Just goes to show, housework is dangerous. Lol.

  3. That's really pretty! I haven't gotten into Konading yet. I will eventually when I have more money on hand. I know I'll get hooked on it :P!

  4. Hi Steph,

Konading can become an addiction, and can be pricey. But there are always fauxnad plates you can pick up on Ebay. And I have heard that some China Glaze polishes, eg - the OMG collection, can be used in place of the special polishes. So if you already have some of that, it can a good way to get the look on the cheap.
I did my first attempt at design freehand with the Orly Foil FX collection which will go up Friday. I kept it basic and and straight lines and am super happy with the result and its a little different from the usual stamping.

  7. I'm a big fan of the colours too. I was a little hesitant at first, because I wasn't sure what it would turn out like. I am not a fan of lots of black on my nails, almost black sure, but not black-black.
