EOTD

I know it's been a while since I posted an EOTD and that's mostly because I didn't like how the photos were turning out on the camera I borrowed from my dad while I saved for a new one - which I picked up yesterday! This one was passable, but not great photo wise.

The look was much better in person. The photos were actually taken after I had been out so please excuse the crazy brows (I swear those things have a mind of their own!). I wanted a smokey-ish look, but not to OTT dark since I was going out for dinner but I wanted something a little different then my go-to neutral look.

I was happy with how it turned out, very understated, noticeable but not overly dramatic and really quick to do. I think you should be able to click and enlarge to see the sparkle.

I started with Too Faced Shadow Insurance and then covered the whole are with MAC Paintpot in Painterly (which I have found combined with Shadow Insurance works like glue for eye shadows as well as increasing their vibrancy - epic win!)
Then I patted over the brown bone area a layer of MAC Shroom then patted on MAC Retrospeck over the lid and up into the crease area, blending into Shroom. Then I patted MAC Beauty Marked (a stunning blackened red with red glitter/shimmer) on the lid and then MAC Soot into the outer crease and gently blended it all. I used a thin line of black liquid liner flicking out slightly at the ends and finished with Maybelline Lash Stiletto.

Super fast, but a good result. Do you like it?

Also, I'm in the market for a good vampy plum coloured shadow. Either MAC or Inglot. Any suggestions out there?

That's it from me today.

Be awesome to each other.

That's a really lovely and understated look. I love brown/neutral shades like the one you're wearing but they don't really work on my darker skintone. :(

Hi Leslie,

Thank you! I was really quite happy with how it turned out, so having that confirmed is awesome. Out of curiosity, have parts of your prize package started showing up yet?

Hi Joan,

It was pretty understates, and I liked the classic feel to it. With a darker skintone you can pull of all the stunning neutral cream shades like Shroom and Retrospek that we only could use as a highlight! That I am totally envious of.

Hi Fruity,

Thanks! I have been working on my blending lately, but I never quite feel like it's improing. I guess practice makes perfect right?
